The NSW Council of Freshwater Anglers (NSWCFA) Interclub Meet
1st to 3rd of May 2009
The NSWCFA Interclub Meet is a social fly-fishing long weekend that is held annually at BlackGold Country Cabins at Wallerawang in NSW. A wide cross section of fly-fishers, ranging from novices to experts, come together to share fly tying, fly casting and the exchange of fly fishing knowledge while supporting the Peak Freshwater Fishing organization in the state.
The cottage style accommodation is comfortable and economical and motel rooms are also available.
The Interclub Meet starts at midday on Friday. In the evening a briefing on the weekend is given, followed with a talk by a prominent fishing identity.
A continental breakfast is available from 5 am on Saturday and Sunday, or you have the option to cook in your accommodation.
You make your own arrangements for Saturday lunch, there is a dinner with prize drawings in the evening and the winners of the fly tying competition are announced. Prize draws are usually worth a total of about $3,000 in value.
We hold not very serious fly tying, photo and casting competitions and we usually find a prize for the largest fish caught and released; the weekend closing with the casting presentation on the Sunday followed by a BBQ lunch
Fishing is available in Lakes Lyell and Wallace and in Oberon and Thompson’s Creek Dams, as well as nearby Central Tablelands streams.
The entry cost this year is $155, which includes accommodation, meals and entry into the prize draws.

He also sent me some graphic images of an unfortunate angler with a treble stuck into his eye – I’ve decided not to put it into the newsletter, but I can send to anyone interested.
38cm rainbow from Jindabyne first weekend in Jul.

This was discussed at a number of meetings – here are some maps showing the plans.
