Weston Club Issues

For 2008, The Weston Club has generously provided a room for our monthly meetings at no charge.  In return, they ask that all members be encouraged to join The Weston Club.  Membership is $5 for 12 months and gives full membership to 4 clubs around Canberra.  Application forms are available from the Reception desk.

Many CAA regulars are already members and a number of them meet at The Weston Club for dinner before each monthly meeting, usually around 6:30pm.  Several have been lucky in the raffles and there is also a jackpot badge draw.

Those who aren’t members are required to be signed in at the door by a Weston Club member when attending CAA meetings.

The Weston Club has given us good support and members are asked to consider joining if they have not already done so.

Fishing

By the time you read this, Peter, Ian and Stuart should be winging their way to Gore for a New Zealand fishing trip.  Good luck to them and I’m sure many of us would have liked to have gone along too.  Look forward to tall tales and photos next newsletter.

On 23 Jan Geoff, Mark and Bill played hooky from work and headed up to the Thredbo.  Pretty quiet day and only relatively small fish caught – sorry, no fish photos.

Mark with his rod bent.  Unfortunately with a tree on the line and he still hasn’t broken his duck for trout on fly.

But his casting is coming along quite nicely – good tight loops.

Later in the month, Bill headed down the south coast chasing bass in the rivers.  Good lure fishing both Sat and Sun of the long weekend.

both strong bass and ..

 some bream by-catch.
