The common carp world record has fallen again. This time to German angler Emir Caro. The 84lb 12oz (38.45Kg) monster has been a long term target for Emir who has been after it for 3 years. Emir tempted the common with a 20mm boilie on a size 3 Mako super fly hook, 18lb Krystonite and a 65lb Score Gold lead core leader.

Catfish is 646 pound from the Mekong.

 

All of these fish were caught in Baghdad on Camp Liberty. The

biggest ones 30lb+ Rasty Mckay US Military Police Baghdad

Minutes of the previous meeting were disseminated by e-mail. Members were urged to pay fees

 

Inwards Correspondence

 

No inwards correspondence was presented to the meeting.

 

Treasurers' Report

 

Stefan reported:

·        At bank, $842.20

·        Only 20 members are financial at the moment. Some regulars are yet to respond. Stefan will chase up.

Fishing Report

 

Bill reported a 50cm brown in Jindabyne.

 

Stefan went to Tathra for one fish (salmon).

 

Norm reported some small fish at the coast.

 

Club Events

 

Next event programmed is South Coast Charter but nothing has been organized. Bill suggested that when next year’s program is organized that someone be pre-arranged as organiser.

 

June outing is ‘Lucky Dip’ but little interest was expressed.

 

Council of Freshwater Anglers

 

Next meeting is 0930, 19 May at Gaden Hatchery. Volunteer was sought to attend.

 

Closure

 

Geoff Donkin had provided a number of fishing DVDs which were shown.

Fishing Report

 

Allan fished at Tumut (township) for 5 small trout on a ‘drowned hopper’. He remarked on the lack of carp in the river.

 

Charlie had success with a yellowbelly at Googong and a 15lb carp on corn at LBG on Wednesday.

 

Greg fished Merimbula and Eden wharf.

 

Stuart fished the mouth of the Thredbo and in the Brindabellas with no luck

Stefan reported on the meeting. Next meeting is to be at Penrith.
