Coming Events

Wed 11 Jun – next meeting

13 Apr – Googong with Charles and Greg

Reported from Charles:

Greg and I started fishing about 8 o’clock.  Greg caught 3 little red fin, on a celta type lure. I myself didn’t have any bites. two hours into the show Alan stumbled onto us, had a little chat he moved on, and we fished for another couple of hours had a little bbq at 12oclock and had a great fish and walk, good time had by all.

At the May meeting, others including Peter indicated that he (and Bob S) had been there on the day but had not managed to link up.

Greg and one of his red-fin – one can only hope that the rumours of trout stocking in Googong are true.

17 May – Bermagui Coast Charter with Stuart

Reported from Stuart:

it was a successful trip with plenty of fish for all, see cleaning tables.

We fished at Montague Island until about 1pm catching a mixed bag of wrass, snapper, mowong, and sundry other reef fish, and then moved off to the sand flats for flat head and trigger fish.

Photos from Geoff T:

Dear Stuart,

Attached are a few photos from the weekend. We ate the Triggerfish on Monday, beautiful!!!!

Thanks for a most enjoyable outing,

Regards, Geoff

And a comment from new member Michael V:

The coast trip was good, but weather when setting of to sea was ordinary with a boat going down with the loss of 1x life.

But we caught plenty of flat head, leather jacket, but not that many snapper also 1x Bonito, but no kingfish wrong time for them.

Anna didn't go out to sea, not feeling too well on the morning she may have made the right decision.

Regards,

Michael.

Carp Fishing with Charles

Reported from Charles:

Bob M, a new member and my next door neighbour on ANZAC day arvo – Bob and one of his work colleagues went fishing at one of the local lakes, he did try and find me, but I wasn’t home. The so-and-so caught a 20 pounds 6 ounce Monster Carp! Came to my place where I was told to weigh, measure, and take photos of this beast.

The following Wednesday Bob, Steve, and I went fishing to the same place.  We all caught fish, the biggest one on the day 20 Pounds 2 Ounces. Not good enough Charles!

Bob M with all this fish on a 6lb line only!
